Privacy policy
Short version – the pages you clip never leave your browser. The extension sends two things and nothing else: the address of a page where it could not find an article, and the bare domain of a successful clip. Both can be switched off in settings. The website is a separate thing, and is described below.
The extension
Clean Clipper extracts and converts page content entirely inside your browser. It sends page content nowhere – the copy goes to your clipboard, the file goes to your disk or to a folder you selected. There is no account, no crash reporting and no third-party request of any kind. Three things do go to us: the address of a page where no article was found, the bare domain of a successful clip – never a path, never a title, never any text – and the name of whichever screen of the extension you opened, so we can tell whether people reach them at all. All of it stops when you turn the switch off in settings, and the panel inside the extension shows how many addresses have been sent so far.
Settings and the last clip are stored in the browser’s local extension storage so the preview window can show them. They never leave your machine.
The extension requests one host permission, and it is our own statistics address – not the sites you read. Access to a page is granted by your own click on the icon or your keyboard shortcut, and only for that tab.
Permissions and why each exists

This website
The site is static and sets no cookies of its own. It does count page views, using our own analytics running on our own server – no third party, no advertising network, no cookie. Visitors are not identified: the visit is attributed to a value derived from your address and browser that is regenerated every day, so the same person is a different value tomorrow. On the page shown after you remove the extension we also record which reason you picked and whether you pressed install again – the label of the reason alone, with no email text and no address. Server access logs kept by the hosting provider may contain IP addresses for a short period, for security and abuse prevention.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. In practice we hold none unless you have written to us, in which case it is the content of your own email. Write to the address in the imprint.
